2001 Malibu

I have a 2001 malibu with a couple of things wrong. The check engine light is on for an egr valve which I just had replaced, I took it back and the mechanic turned the light off and about 20 minutes later it came back on. Also I have a leak in the intake gasket :banghead: . I would like to know if there are any good books, manuals, websites, etc. that would go in detail on fixing these problems. I don't really want to pay a mechanic 500 or a dealership 800 to fix the intake leak when I know I can do it myself for less than half of that. Thanks for any help.

I have a Haynes manual and it got me through the Intake Gasket replacement.
