As I mourn the loss of my engine in my 97 Spyder GS-T, I ask for your condolences, the end of my old and tired 7 bolt engine has come. As for the story: I was cruising down the highway when Mr. Crankshaft Pulley decided he wanted to become two seperate entities, he decided to take out his neighbor and friend Crazy Uncle Timing belt, as for the rest im sure you can guess, the fued of the Pistons and the Valves was finally resolved, the Pistons won the fued, bending up the Valve family, and the Rocker Arm clan gave up and also tore up their peacefull co-worker Dr. Camshaft. Mr. Airconditioning belt has passed away, and Miss. Alternator belt is left hanging by a thread. Im not sure of the whereabouts of Auntie Balance Shaft belt, but im sure she is still at home.
Soon my friends A 6 bolt engine will take the place of the down and out 7 bolt, bringing a new family to the Eclipse, but untill then......
*Not a victim of crankwalk.
*Just a freak accident.
*I just want to drive my car!
*Damn that two piece crankshaft pulley!
*Batteries not included.

Damn sorry to hear that dude. But, I do like your sense of humor about this. Hope the 6 bolt will "marry" the rest of the car till death do them part

Sweet post.
This is a common occurrence, but don't tell anyone, it will will end up like Internet Crankwalk and every DSM will have it. People should be keeping an eye on that harmonic damper/crank pulley, they all seperate, it's just a matter of when. In the 172k miles in the 2g I lost two or three. I think they typically go around 70-80k miles.
Good luck getting it back together, hope it works out well for you.
