I'd say it's an ignition or fuel related prob.

I'd check the O2 out.

the jerking, could it be your torque converter locking and unlocking???? there is a known problem with the cooling fan motor creating a harmonic that the knock sensor interprets as engine knock, and it retards the timing, which causes the converter to unlock, the harmonic goes away, timing is restored, and the converter locks up, then it starts over again. My RS did that at 45mph, i replaced the fan motor, and the problem went away.

however if it was what i said, it would happen at a consant speed, not just accelleration. so is it only while accelerating, or is it when you are cruising?

other than that, check your trans fluid level, color, and smell, (not taste lol) if its low, brown, or smells burned, you need a tranny service.

also, have you done any modifications to the drivetrain, such as a higher stall converter, aftermarket rear gears etc. etc.

had to take it to a shop there they ran a scope and computer test check . they found secondary ignition wire failed.they installed new ignition plug wire set. reset ignition timing to factory specs. cleared the codes and now the car runs good...
