What' s a good replacement stereo for the standard CD 4 disc changer that came with a 2001 Intrepid ES with the Infinity system?
I'd like to still use the amp at least. I figuree that I will not be able to use the steering wheel controls, or the multi-disc changer. I'd gladly trade those features for a CD\MP3 player that is an easy install.
Thanks in advance

Just about any good aftermarket unit will work, lots of them will play CD/Mp3 Discs. You just need the mounting kit to attatch the radio to so it will fit in the dash opening plus a wiring kit for the vehicle that you connect to the Radio leads and will plug right in to the factory harness. Some radios may have a Power Antenna AND a remote lead for turning on the Amplifier when the unit is powered up, units with both leads will disable the power antenna lead when playing a CD, if your replacement has both types of leads, use the remote lead to hook to the harness kit so your infinity amp will power up, if the radio doesn't have a remote lead then it should be safe use the power antenna lead as that should be energized during radio anf CD playback. Don't worry about the power rating of the radio, the infinity amp should handle it just fine as it steps down the speaker output to a line level input internally in the amp, I got a 45 watt x4 Pioneer unit in my 94 LHS and it sings beautifully with the infinity amp and speakers. One thing I do notice in my car is the front and rear fader works with the mids and highs but not with the woofers for some reason and the increased thump I get from the pioneer forces me to cut the bass below flat and yet they still kick some serious bass for stock speakers.
