1997 CRV door locks, keyless entry

I am a newcomer to this forum, looking for any advice you may be able to offer me. When I purchased a 1997 CRV a couple of months ago, I was made aware by the dealer that the power lock button (located on the driver's door) was not working. However, I realized later that the trunk release button was not functioning either. My boyfriend checked it out and realized the fuse was blown. After replacing the fuse, the trunk release works correctly, and the power door lock has starting working--somewhat. It will only lock/unlock the driver's side and it only works if the door is open. We suspected the sensor might be faulty, but the dome light works correctly for all the doors. My boyfriend is generally handy, but this has stumped him. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be doing this or at least a general idea of what it would cost to have a dealer look at/fix it?

Also, I purchased a keyless entry fob off Ebay and tried programming it according to the instructions provided, which were just like the ones I have found posted on this forum. However, it does not work. Do you believe this is related to the power door locks?

Sounds like the driver door lock acuator needs to be replaced. as for the keyless remote, the 97 model did not have keyless as a standard equipment. you must make sure that the vehicle actually has the keyless module in it.

Did you purchase the correct remote for your CR-V? The 97-01 uses:

FCC: E4EG8DJ
CANADA : 1983 K1239
Part # : G8D-452H-A
