Gets fire but won't start

I had a new ignition coil and modulator put in my 89 rs 2.8 got out the car came back and it wouldn't start back up. any answer to why

You drove it home, and now it won't start? Did you have any starting problems before? Does it turn over?
Make sure that the wire running from the coil to the distributer is on securely.

Yea its on there good. yeas it turns over also

Do you smell gas after trying to start it for a while? Its not a reliable indicator of proper fuel, but if there' a strong gas smell, its probably an ignition problem.
Pull out a plug (hold it with rubber gloves or insulated pliers) and ground it to the block. Have someone else turn it over, and watch for spark...

Im not talking about your gas tank but getting to your engine, no gas+spark=no start.

Did you try turning your key to start and by-passing your starter with a screwdriver?
You need to be careful while doing this but it could help determine if the problem is electricle.
