lately i hear a clicking sound coming from below my emergency break, when I apply the brakes and I release my foot from the break. Has anyone experience this ?
Thanks

My cougar does the same thing. I took it to the dealer and told them I was just curious as to what it was...they wanted to charge me to look at it. There was a nice guy that came out and didn't charge me anything and told me that it was the gear shift box. There is a tab that holds the gearshift in place until you pull the button to change gears and he said that is going bad and I'd have to have the entire gear box replaced (big $). He said there is a possibility of it breaking and me being stranded but nothing that needed fixed now. I'm taking my chances. It has been about a year and nothing bad has happened, just a nice clicking sound.

My cougar dose this when it wants to. My brother is a ASE certified and he told me it is the break safety switch. It is what makes it so you have to have your foot on the break to shift out of park. If it is the same thing that my car is doing it is not a big deal nor will it strand you.......it is just annoying
