Water pump help

the tensioner is it suppose to have any play in it? i am trying to see if it is worn or not. i can put a small ratchet on it and pull it a freat deal towards the radiator until it catches on the clip...is it already suppose to be against the clip?


also my hoses get tight like no pressuree is being released.. is it normal for them to be really tight?
