Electric Sunroof Problem!!!!!!

I have a 1993 5Series Wagon with a PANORAMIC roof.
The switch that opens/closes the roof seems to be broken, yet, when I press on one part of the 3 way switch (the part that raises the roof to slide overtop of the other piece), it still has juice going to it as I can see/hear the motor going "click click".
I had replaced the switch once and all seemed to correct itself. But my garage drained my battery doing some repairs and since they recharged the vehicle and I picked it up, no sunroof.
I have looked at the fuse box in the engine compart. and no fuses seem to be blown (mind you, there is no fuse listed as "sun-roof!!).
Electr. short???
Any ideas...hate to drop it at the mechanics and say "heres an electrical problem for ya"......I would HATE to see the bill!
Anyone???

Bman, I had the same problem with my 89 525i. Lost battery power with the sunroof open and when the battery was recharged, sunroof would not close, just heard clicking when the button was pressed. First I removed the cover, thinking it was the switch, but replaced the switch and it did not fix the problem. I then called my local service advisor and he told me that when power is lost, the sunroof switch (or motor, I can't remember which) is self-resetting. Have you tried all switch settings to open and close the sunroof? For instance, my sunroof closed when I pushed what would normally be the open button. Not sure how this all worked, but my roof then closed, then operated as normal. Hope this helps. :banghead:
