Hi everyone, I just joined today. It seems like a really helpful environment here. I'll be glad to get to know you guys/gals.
I just purchased a '05 Trailblazer LT EXT 4wd w/ Bose premium sound last week. The Bose sounds great, but there are only 6 speakers - 2 in-dash and one in each door - so if i am tailgaiting all the sound is up front and there is like zero bass in the rear door speakers...the ones in the front have nice kick though.
Anyway, I did some research and bought 2 sets of Kicker KS60 (6.5") and a Kicker 350.4 amp from crutchfield.

I thought about a sub, but it would just take up too much space in the trunk area...and i don't need all that bass. Anyway, I would like to put 2 of the Kickers in the trunk hatch and 2 somewhere around the 3rd row seat, which would mean cutting up my brand new ride, but I think it needs to be done. Any suggestions on how to go about this? I have a 4 gauge monster wiring kit from a previous circuit city installation which I am pretty sure I can reuse, but I would also need to know which other wiring and tools to get...and how to run the wires throughout the TB...especially into the trunk hatch.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

David.

ok, to simplify this... My 1st question is, does the Bose Head Unit have RCA jacks so I can run a 4 channel RCA cable to the amp or should I tap into the speaker wire and use the high level inputs on the Kicker amp? If this needs to be done, how do I go about it and how will it sound?
Or do I need something else all-together to get the job done.
Thanks,
David

Got to http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/ and get the LOC they have. No splicing, no cutting, and it has an RCA output for you. There you go. Done deal...

I bought a PAC AOEM-GM24 (Add an Aftermarket Amplifier to Factory Sound System) for $31.99 from buy.com.
I contacted PAC and the guy said this is what i would need, so i got it and a set of monster RCA jacks (i already had one set from a previous installation).
Thanks for the help mark.
oh, and by the by, your chick is hot.

We installed the stuff in the Trailblazer yesterday...kicker amp in the little storage area...2 speakers in the hatch...and 2 speakers by the 3rd row seat.
I used the PAC to run the RCA jacks and some of the speaker wire for the hatch speakers because the wires that came with the speakers weren't long enough. The 3rd row seat speaker wire was long enough to run to the amp.
Now, the ones in the hatch work perfectly, but the ones by the 3rd row seat have this click/rattle thing going on. It's not the speakers because I switched one from the hatch to the 3rd row and it still has the click/rattle. It's not the RCA jacks either because I switched the the front and rear channels and the click/rattle is still in the 3rd row.
Do you have any idea what this could be?
Could it be that I only used some of the speaker wire for the hatch and not the 3rd row? I don't see why this would cause a problem, but I am definitely no expert.
Thanks

sending the amp back to crutchfield...99% sure its the 2 speaker outputs on the amp for the rear channel
