Gas Guage

I have an 89 F-150 300-6cyl, the gas guage keeps pegging out way over full when you turn the key on. So I ran all the wires down I checked the float in both tanks and nothing is physicaly worng, so I had a friend to come over with a multi-meter and check volts,ohms,resistance etc, and everything checked fine. But now that I've put everything back together without takeing ANY wires lose the hand will only pegg now when you mash the brake petal, yet still dosn't read right without being on the brake. Any suggestions will be most helpful, thanks for your input. :confused:

Do what I used to do. Just run it 200 miles and then fill up the tank..

well i have the same truck i have problimes with my gage to on the front tank i can put in just a littel gas it will show full and when i drive it a whill it will just drop down to empty the back tank the gage dont work at all so if you find out the problime let me know
