My 99 Safari was having hestation problems and lacked power. I had the converter replaced and I now have the power back and some of the hesitation has gone away. My new problem is when I go somewhere and shut the van off for a short period, it starts and idles fine but hesitates for a few seconds.
The easiest way to check your converter is to use a Digital Pyrometer when your engine is hot. Check the temperature going into the coverter and coming out of the converter. The temperature should always be hotter coming out (about 100 degrees hotter). If you don't have a Digital Pyrometer you can use an oven thermometer.
