Man this is cool.

It's a massive download, but it's a program that lets you view the earth in 3d using satellite images. Pick the right satellite & city, and you can zoom in right down to seeing cars parked in front of houses :D

Big file. 180 megs. It will be worth it when I have WMD. Which I never will.

WMD? Oh and how detailed where you able to get? I was able to find my house but only under the 1m Ortho, and it wasn't very very detailed but I was able to distinguish my house from the others.

It all depends on where you go I guess. I could get really detailed using the Urban Area ortho in california somewhere, but when I went over NYC it was just all white.

Baghdad is pretty detailed, lol.

yea, I tried NYC too. I think I'm going to try LA with the Urban Ortho.

But this is what I got over North New Jersey using LandSat 7 and I couldn't zoom in any more.

I guess they only have popular areas and metropolitan areas that can get as detailed as the ones they gave on the website.

Here's North Long Beach, LA, California. I guess they only concentrate such high-detailed images in the most popular cities.
