Hey everyone. Just primered my Celsior. Finally got it to sit right...Uhhgg wait a PITA! Anyways, like i said, i just primered with Duplicolor primer. I want to paint this one light gunmetal....Heres my problem...The primer is dark and so is the light gunmetal...so..I have some Tamiya Racing White and Silver Leaf...Which color should I put under the Light Gunmetal? Would the white give me a different effect than the silver leaf? Thanks!

Light gunmetal covers really well, I don't think you need any base under it except the gray primer. Few mist coats, one wet coat, and couple of clear coats is all you need.

What 360 said.

Shouldn't give you any trouble at all.

If you choose to use a base color, Silver Left cover very well (nearly as good as primer)

But I don'T think you will need it, unless your primer is Black.

Thanks for the replies...but what kind of effect could I get if I use the silver leaf underneath the light gunmetal? Would it brighten it up? If so, i wont do it then.

The Gunmetal covers very well.
You probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the white or the silver basecoat.
I would say you could just spray the gunmetal over the primer without any problems.

almost all "metal" colours are not transparent at all so no effects at all no matter to the base colour.
