Am I the only one who totally sucks at putting the 5-gallon bottles of water on top of the cooler? :o

I just got water all over the little pantry area at work! Damnit!!

Isn't there a better way to make those things, or am I just retarded?

our one has a cap, so that if you turn it upside down no water comes out unless you place it in the cooler base where the cap's valve gets pushed open and lets water out.

You probably do. If there is a little piece of paper over a plastic top on the jug, only remove the paper. Just because there is a tab to remove the plastic cap doesn't mean you're supposed to:rolleyes: .

It's just a little round piece of plasticy paper that covers the plastic top. That is all that you should remove. There are usually instructions on it too:rolleyes: . This is the norm with Crystal Rock water coolers, but I don't know what kind you have at work.

No, no paper...

It's Arrowhead water, I think. There's an orange rubbey-plastic cap with a little foam ring inside the cap. You pull the strip from around the cap to unseal it, and usually the cap comes off with it. But now after reading what you put, I guess you could tear off the strip all the way and flip over the bottle with the little cap still on... I wonder if that would work...

The cap probably has an inverted nipple type thing that the cooler pops into and subsequently drains water into the cooler. That way if its upside down and not on the cooler, no water comes out. Examine the bottles tomorrow and maybe take pics ;).

I sympathise with you Jay because that used to happen to me at my last job. :o

I don’t need to worry about that anymore. Our water cooler plugs straight from the water mains. :D

Sorry pal, couldn't turn down such a perfect opportunity to disrespect you, in gest, of course :D Nice job with all the pictures you found, by the way. See if maybe you can get some Crystal Rock, Culligan, or other water cooler supplier that sends their five-gallon jugs with caps that have valves in them.

No dice. :( My employer has a special arrangement with Arrowhead for cheap or free water... So I guess I'll keep on dumping it on the floor, then...

I always wondered how somebody is suppost to put those bottles of water on the cooler without getting water all over the place. Too bad you had to learn the hard way.:hehe:

Or you can do it like this.

Black : Bottle Cap
BLue : Water
Red : Spring
Green : Plate inside cooler.

When the plastic point on the cap gets pushed in by the plate inside the cooler it allows the water to flow out. otherwise the spring keeps the cap pushed up and closed.
