Just installed an aftermarket tach on a 97 Honda civic dx hatch. everything is wired up correctly. I tapped the green wire to the blue wire with the cap that is under the hood on the strut tower. The white wire is tapped into the dimer, the red wire is tapped into a power source and the black is grounded. The problem I am having is that it supposed to redline at 7100 rpms and its only going to 3500. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thnx. Last 1 Standin.

Is this like an aftermarket ( Autometer) tach or somthing like that? Cause on my Autometer tach you hold the trip in and turn while pressed then press the trip again to show the redline. On mine you have to play with it for a bit to get it at the right RPM marker. Also my car has to be running to do this. But this should be obviouse so I am guessing you dont have a tach like this and I wasted my time here :loser:

yeah.... i was guessing the same thing, you have to set the tach for redline... the tach is not giong to just know when your car redlines and turn on the shift light..lol... you probably already know this though so yeah...
