1999 GMC Jimmy stuck in 4LO

OK I have been searching in here for over 2 hours and can not find where my problem is posted so I'm sorry if this subject has been posted before but I really need help with this and running out of time.

Can anyone tell me what would cause my 99 GMC Jimmy to shift to 4Lo and not shift out. I have the buttons on the dash that at first 4Lo was blinking, then when I would stop it would shift down to 4Lo. With a lot of buttong pushing I could get it back in 2wd but now it is stuck in 4Lo and will not budge. The manuals say nothing about 4x4 that we can find and I really need my car back.

Have you tried putting the vehicle in neutral (while not moving) and then switching to 2wd?

Yes we tried neutral and it did not help.

had same problem vacuum hose on top of transfer case broken

reset the computer by pulling the negative terminal for 30 minutes and see if it will help.
