I Have Been Told By Local Dealer That This Part Is Not Working On My 2002 Explorer But I Was Not Told What This Part Does??
And Does Anyone Know How To Get To This Part?? It Is In The
Rear Of The Vehicle. That Is Where I Hear The Clicking Sound
Coming From.

I think they were talking about the door lock motor. It is located inside the door panel. Remove the panel and have someone work the switch and see where the click is coming from.

NO I DON'T THINK SO. IT IS IN THE REAR AC UNIT SUPPOSEDLY???
MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THERE IS A DOOR PER SAY IN THE UNIT THAT DIRECTS THE AIR FLOW AND THIS DIRECTOR ?? IS CALLED THE ACCUATOR AND IT IS NOT WORKING. THIS IS WHAT CAUSES THE CLICKING SOUND.

OK. Sorry. I did not know we are talking about the A/C. :disappoin It is probably the rear blend door motor. I do not think there is anything in there that directs air flow, but there is one that will control the temperature. Dealers will call a motor an actuator if it moves something by electrical current. Again there may be one for air flow. Haven't torn into one yet.

Yes That Is What It Is. Do You Know Where It Is And Do You Think It Will Be Difficult To Replace??? My Son Removed The Panel Covering From Inside The Car But He Said That There Is Like A Black Box There, Where The Clicking Sound Comes From.

The black box would be it. It probably sits on top of a rod that controls the door. Should be one or 2 screws that hold it on and it will lift off. When it is removed, be sure the door is not broken inside the unit. If door is broken or stuck, that may have led to the problem. There is an 8 way connector on the actuator, but only 4 wires going in it. They are Brown, White, Black and Gray with a Yellow trace color on it. Good luck.

Had same problem on my 03. MInes was covered by warranty. Here's what the dealer did from what I gathered from the invoice. Got into the black box your son found. Discharged A/C (freon), removed black box to gain access to blend door. It was stuck. Replaced with new blend door. Reassemble and recharged A/C. Lots of hours. If you do it yourself you have to deal with freon R134a. Please post your results.
