I have a 98 civic ex and it turns out I need a new alternator. My friend got me one, its a "Premium Alternator" by Nastra.
I have little experience with working on cars, I have done a lot as far as speaker systems and oil changes, but thats my extent.
I was told about this site, and that I can find a walk through, step by step style on how to do it.
I have checked but couldn't find anything except these forums.
Does anyone know a site that offers these walk throughs for alternator replacements for a 98 civic.
Thanks a bunch guys... awesome site too.

ill 2nd that. manuals help u so much. it should be an easy job tough. disconect ground from battery, loosen the 2 bolts, hit alterntator couple times with mallet until belt is loose, disconect the 2 harnesses off the alternator, take bolts off, change alternator reconect everything but ground on battery, tighten alternator so that belt has barely any slack in it then reconect the bat, start car see if everything works if belt squeaks when u start the car u need to tighten the alternator more.

haha... yea easy.... have you seen the hellhole engine compartment before? the only way i could get it in/ out was
1. take off 10mm bolt for power wire
2. unplug harness
3. take off upper bolt(tensioner)
4. " lower bracket entirely
5. remove drivers tire
6. drop drivers side of engine ( 2 mounts, 4 bolts)
7.slide out behind driveshaft
then reverse..... i heard you can pass it over to the passengers side bot for 4 bolts i just dropped the mug
