'96 Sephia 1.8L

I am trying to replace the Power steering/AC belt on my '96 Sephia RS 1.8L . I have the tensioner on the power steering pump loosened up as much as it will go on it's bracket, I've loosend the two nuts that allow the unit to move, but I still can't get the belt around the 3 pulleys. Any suggestions?

sounds fishy to me... if you're sure it's not just stuck in place (the ps pump) and the new belt will slide over with the position the pulleys are in, I'd just take the pump or compressor off with the belt still attached- assuming the belt is at least slack
come to think of it though, don't these cars have an adjustment bolt on the back of the bracket that you have to lossen (in the area of the bottom locknut)? did you do that?

There are two nuts that have to be accesed through the holes in the pully.
I have done this several times and its a pain.
I have been thinking about undoing the motor mounts and jacking the engine up to make it faster...any thoughts on this?

PS belt is a pain to get off. YOu can remove the crank pulley and change the blet and then muscle the crank pulley back into place.

I've gotten really fast at this. Its a matter of having the right size socket at the right time. Plus I'm 230lbs so when I push down on the lossened PS pump, it moves down... use a nice pry bar to push down on the pump and dont be afraid to use some muscle. It wont break if the pry bar is in the right place.
