Hey guys,
I have an 87 Accord that when I turn the key sometimes the car turns right over as if it was brand new and other times I have to turn the key 14 times to get the starter to turn. When I'm having this problem I can hear the starter click for just a second. Any ideas what this might be?
Thanks
Craig

Could be a bad segment on the armature. If you don't do something about it, you will eventually find that jogging it won't work. Recommend changing the starter.

COuld also be a bad starter relay.

have you thought about your battery cables? that would also cause the problem.
I had the same thing happen with my 86, replaced the cables, and it had a better connection, therefore had enough power to turn the starter.
With the old cables, i was able to do everything but start it. How corroded are they?
