Cave Trip

I went to some caves a couple hours west of here on Saturday, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. However, the caves themselves posed a bit of a photography challenge - taking photos in very low light is not normally a problem with my tripod, but tripods aren't allowed in the caves. Right then. Railings were in abundance, and I used some, but because the railing is rounded, it's not exactly the most steady spot for a camera, requiring me to keep my hand on the camera (and thus increasing the possibility of movement). In the end, I took a whole load of shots, with a fair few turning out fine, and a select few that I think turned out very well. I'm fairly pleased with the results, considering the circumstances and the fact that it was my first time taking shots in a cave...
Now I'll just have to get myself a monopod and go back :D

very good job for a tough situation like that! :) i really like the stalactites, they look very cool. what you needed was one of these to attach your tripod head too (assuming it had a removable head) then clamp to the railing: http://www.manfrotto.com/product/templates/itemalone.php3?itemid=344
the p6 looks very nice btw. i can't see any rust, not like the ones over here... :(
