Dried soft drink on paint

I have dried Pepsi on the passenger side door. Can't get it off with washing, soaking with water or bug and tar remover. I tried to gently scrape off with fingernail while wet with no success. I'm think of pouring on some hot water to soften the spots, then gently use finger nail to push blob off the paint. I think rubbing compound may be too extreme. Would appreciate any suggestions.

You may want to try a clay bar. The clay (along with your favorite quick detailing spray for lubricant) should grab hold and remove the dried soda. Just be sure to wax the area afterward for protections.

If the stain is particularly stubborn or claying doesn't remove everything, a pure finishing polish (light abrasive) should to the trick. But again, follow up any polish with a coat of wax.
