My 96 blazer has been losing coolant and going over the 210 mark after changing the radiator cap. I no longer lose my coolant and my temp stays two lines before the 210 mark. One question when I changed my
thermastat did I need to put sealent? because I did not do this! also at what temp should my blazer be at? Like I said before it stays two lines before the 210 mark and sometimes when in heavy traffic it may go over but it quickly goes right back below 210 like it is hitting a sensor or something.

Did you use a new thermostat housing gasket when you replaced the thermostat?

Please clarify your question - you're all over the place. Did you change your rad cap or thermostat or both?

No I did not!
I replaced thermastat and rad cap!

There should be a thermostat housing gasket you need to replace.

But if it isn't leaking now, I wouldn't worry at all about it.

Chances are the original is still ok.

Don't tear it apart to replace it if it is dry.
