i was looking into getting a new motor cuz mine has over 150,000 miles on it, so i started looking for jdm motors to replace it, cuz there cheap, and low milage....and i went here http://www.sunrisejdmmotors.com/mitsubishi.php and found that the sell a non turbo jdm eclipse motors.....and its 180hp.....is that for REAL?! american version is 140, but the jdm non turbo is +40hp? im having a hard time beleving that, does anybody have info on this? is it really 180hp? and whats the diffence in the jdm and adm motors? thanx!

There is no difference between a JDM 4g63 and ADM besides assembly location. Some JDM's came w/ a bigger stock turbo (comparable to a 16g) and cyclone intake. IMO it's not necessary to pay the extra import fee for an engine you can get locally.

Also replacing your engine because it has 150 000miles is unecessary unless it's broken and a replacement would be cheaper. I have 178 xxxmiles on mine (regularly maintained) and still running VERY strong.

To my understanding there was never a stock 180hp non-turbo DSM, although I've been told the euro 4g63NA produced 150hp stock.

If you are gonna buy a non-turbo JDM I wouldn't buy it from a company that just makes up horsepower. Try http://www.totaljdm.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/engines.displayengine/item_num/JDMMITSU4G63N/jdm_engines.htm, they seem to be reputable from my experiences.

It's probably true b/c the motors from japan always have more power than american, europian, and canadian. when a honda is made in japan for america, they send it to europe to be tuned down, when it comes to america they tune it down and put it on the market, and canada tunes it down if it goes there. yeah i know its stupid. they need to give us the power they give them. so if i was you i would buy that motor b/c it has a lot more potential than a U.S. motor

Not w/ the 4G63's, the ADM's and JDM's are practically identical aside from few minor things like the ECU and probably emission regulators (And what i mentioned in last post). If you are comparing a Honda JDM to a ADM then you would be right, the ADM version's are usually lower HP.

the jap engines are tuned down for the us because we have crappy gas here compared to what europe and japan get.
