Hello, I have a 2000 Trooper with about 66,000 miles on it.
We bought it at aroudn 58,000 and it has ALWAYS drove very loud. Like the muffler is not doing anything. It is teh worse when we are on teh highway at around 55-65 mph.
When I got teh Trooper I believe it had never been serviced, because I had to replace the belt, and Fluids.
My wife loves it, but the loud noise is getting to her hehe.
Any suggestions would be great.

crawl under it and see if you can find a hole in the exhaust.
Or take it to a place to be inspected.

OK, I ha dit checked out and the guy told me the Baffles are coming apart.
He also told me that only 1 kind of muffler will fit on my 2000 Trooper and he woudl have to order it.
It will cost $160.00 for parts and labor is that a fair price?
Also does anyone suggest any types of mufflers? My wife will be driving it and she just wants it to be a quit as it can get hehe.
Thx for the help
