Car Blew up... spun rod bearing... chiped head and metal ran through oil... this all means my car is completly destoryed...
and when that happen i dont get mad, i grin.
im building the engine. but for a 3000gt the brands are limited. i plan on spending around 20,000.
who else has built their car? i need brands plz.
this is what i plan on doing...
forge alum. rods and pistons (with a nice big overbore ;) )
completely new rebuilt heads with new springs, retainers, lifters, cams, cam gears, and such.
and of corse turbos... i need a kit that can relocates the turbos to the intake area, because i want some nice big turbos that need space to cool off.
with all this horse power my tranny will be at risk... for the the clutch im geting a RPS Carbon-Carbon clutch with a RPS light weight fly wheel. but for the diferentials well im not sure where to get some good ones... and i might have to get my tranny rebuilt too...
im geting the works :)
so if there is anyone who has a built engine that is still working and does mess up and is relieable then send me some brand names. i dont want something to run for a month and blow up...

lets just say im buying a brand new vr4 with lots of horse power ;) for only 20,000

hey man, if you ever need a hand tearing her apart or doing any kind of maintenance, shoot me a PM. i'm in Dallas just about 1.5 hrs away. i've love to help you, or watch if you only permit me that, on the rebuild.

as far as reputable shops that do good engine rebuilds, check out 3si.org. i think there are a few Dallas area guys that have rebuilt motors and they're doing good so far.

if you can, i would wait until the fall when ray pampena gets the 3.7 Liter stroker kits out, that'll definitely be worth it.

:1: Sorry to hear it man, but at least you are going in with the right attitude. So I guess this means the spyder project is gonna be put on hold for awhile? Also, check out 3si, so many people have built up their blocks that there are tons of good threads. Also with that power you may want to consider a t-case bracket.

Yeah sadly the spyder still sits in the shop collecting dust... i know its a shame, but i cant do much now... i dont want to make it all perfomance because it weigh much more than the non-convertable and 3000gts already weigh too much.
that stroker kit sounds great, but its already too late... my engine is already at the machine shop...
