Hi Modelers,
my new project, is in WRC XSARA from the Kronos Team. Sponsored by OMV --is a Austrian mineral oil company--. The Driver is Manfred Stohl, he Drive on the second place in the Cypres Rally.

the basis model is the Heller Xsara WRC'03
http://www.kb-modellbau.at/forumbilder/stohl05/01.jpg

At the body some must be changed
http://www.kb-modellbau.at/forumbilder/stohl05/02.jpg

the chassis is very simply holdet
http://www.kb-modellbau.at/forumbilder/stohl05/03.jpg

therefore use the Chassis from the Tamiya WRC 206 Peugeot Winner Version.

That should prove an interesting project. What will you be changing on the body?

That dude kicks ass!! Rising up. He did really good in the cyprus rally. Yup. Do you have pics of the decals you are going to use? Keep up the great work and good luck on this!

I just wish the Xsara would break already so that my boy Marcus could win a race. :lol2:

Good luck with this project. Renaissance are due to release Stohl's Xsara from the Monte Carlo rally as a transkit aswell.

I will be watching this one Kurt, I am sure it will be a fine looking Xsara, like the one Tamiya should release, as a matter a fact it will be better for sure.

Not to dredge up old posts...but I was just thinking about this tonight. Using a Tamiya Peugeot chassis to improve the Heller Xsara kits. Then I remember this thread...so.....any progress?

When I think back at Kurtl's Capri of last year, I can't wait to see the progress at this Xsara... I'm convinced that it will be the most detailed and best looking 1/24 Xsara of the world!!

Keep up the great work, Kurtl!

After thinking on this some more, while sitting and staring at my nearly finished Xsara and Peugeot 206, I have a question. Does anyone know if the wheels on the Xsara are about the same size as the other WRC cars...give or take? You see, if I decide to take this project on, the wheels that come with the 206 look tiny in the, possibly, oversized wheel arches of the Xsara. The gravel tires don't look too bad, but the tarmac wheels seem a bit small...

The wheel sizes are the same, something about a regulation which controls wheels and tires.....

WRC wheels are 18" on tarmac and 15" on gravel for everyone.
you should keep the tamiya tyres and rims if they are the ones used by citroen but you will have some size problems between Heller and tamiya for the complete wheel...
heller wheels are too big in front of tamiya ones, maybe heller didn't made exactly 1/24 scale...

I thought so. I am going to use the Tamiya wheels. Looks like I am going to have to reshape the wheel wells then. Time to get a spare Peugeot 206.

Nice project but don't waste your time on the decals and keep focused on detailing the model. Renaissance (http://www.renaissance-models.com) made them ! Here is the result !

They are great. The blue is entirely made with decals and it's definitely beautiful !!!!!
