6bolt block non-turbo

So we went to the junkyard to look for a 6bolt block. We found 2 4g63's non-turbo. Would it fit my 2g GS-T? We also found 2 G4CR came from Hyundai car that looks exactly like the 4g63 DOHC, same head. Is it possible to put a 6bolt block, just block non-turbo into a 2g 7bolt turbo car? thanks

The engine from the Hyundai is a 1.8... looks pretty close to the same but isn't....My ma has a hyundai and I just about SHIT when I saw it looked identicle to my engine.... but then I saw it said 1800 on it... I laughed pretty good... then I asked her.."ya want it turboed?" LMFAO
If the engines you found were 4G63's... they are turboed... the 4G63 is the turbo motor...
The 6bolt and 7bolt are swappable...no probs as far as I know.....

The internals on a non turbo 1g 4G63 are not the same as the turbo 1g 4G63.

They did make a 4g63 N/T, early 90's I believe.

so theres no chance of putting the 4g63 block? one came from a Mitsubishi Eclipse GS year 90-91 i believe. the other one was just on the ground, block and head were seperated. The only block i could put into my car is if its a turbo 4g63? thanks

If all you are using is the block itself, the only difference between the turbo and NT version of it are oil squirters. None on the NT block. Most poeple dont care, and the motors work fine. Others argue that its a good safety feature, etc.
The crank and rods are the same as the turbo parts, but the pistons are weak high compression POSes.

ok so N/T 4g63 would definitely fit. Can i just use the block and crankshaft and use the rest from my 2g, ex. rods, pistons ect? would u recommend N/T block with no oil squirters?

I can't really recomend something I haven't tried myself ;) But I will say that enough poeple have done it successfully that I would be fairly comfortable trying it myself if I couldnt find a turbo block for some reason.

hmm... Can u manually put oil squirters on NT blocks? lol it seems pretty impossible but hey, its worth a shot lol. would i suffer any pistons problems cause i mean the oil squirters are there to help the heat and stuff cause of force induction

oh.. ok... I thought that the N/A was a 4G64... my bad... does anyone know about the 1800/1.8 in the hyundai's? When I saw it in my ma's car, it was wierder than hell...

Most machine shops should be able to add the squirters. Some poeple have had this done. It requires drilling into that oil galley and tapping for the squirters. Under 500 whp I dont think I would go through the trouble though. But again, no personal experience.

so it is possible hmm... if i were to put oil squirters, can i use the oil squirters from my 2g? cause i heard 2g has different (position?) oil squirters than 1gs.

The 1.8L in the hyundais is the 4g67. It's similiar to the 4g63NA. Don't know the differences but I succesfully mounted a 5-speed tranny from a 4g67 to my 4g63NA with absolutely no modifications.

How about putting a 4g64 block? will that help me fix my CW heh. i heard it will give u higher revs.

It won't give "u" higher revs. You'll end up reving lower with the longer stroke, but getting more torque and airflow, and better spool. Unless of course you mean using the 2.4 liter block with the 2 liter crank, resulting in a 2.1 liter "de-stroker" that proved just a little more displacement than the 2 liter, but will rev to the moon. The biggest problem I see with those motors is finding a tranny that will shift at 10k rpm ;) 2 liters are going to 9500 in race cars, and having enough trouble as it is.

How well would a 4G67 head sit over 4G63 N/T block?

Whats the 4g67 head out of?
BTW,this is a realy old thread. This is one of the rare cases when you could have made a new thread for your question.
