If u rev ur engine while in neutral.. will the turbo spool at a certain rpm?? Or does it only spool when ur shift gears... I was told that u gotta install something in order for ur turbo to spool while in neutral.

any time you produce more exhaust your turbo spools....
The boost pressure is controlled by the wastegate actuator which in turn is controlled by the amount of boost....boost rises and then opens up the wastegate allowing exhaust to bypass.....something like that...he he he...

The turbo will only spool up completely under load. There is no load on the motor when not in gear, so you dont get boost. You might be able to build a little, or at least reduce vacuum, but its pretty weak. A stutter box/rev limiter can load the motor in the way it limits RPM, allowing you to build boost when not moving. On smaller turbos like 14b and 16g I could easily build 15-17 psi at a 5500 rpm stutter. Makes launching a little more effective ;)

how does a stutter box work that it could build boost?
also, you probably don't need more launch power if its a fwd
