I still cannot find the low side fitting for the A/C?

Not sure guys. Im trying to get my father some A/C, but I only see the high side fitting. I've looked and just do not see it. Did the original pipes have a low side fitting? A/C is never filled through the high side is it? Is it possible this '91 Monaco only had a high fitting. I cannot even find chilton on this car.

Ok, for those of you who don't know. The Low side is under the 2 pin connector pressure switch on the accumulator (dryer). I took it off, put my low side fitting on from the auto parts store, put about 2 cans of R-134 in and it's cold! It's actually holding freon! I should take the low side fitting off and put the pressure switch back on. Not sure what it really does though? It's working fine without it.

P.S. My fan is now running correctly from low-high. The blower resister works great!!! Thanks guys.

Leave the pressure switch off, unless you running the A/C a lot. It essentially is a cut-off if the A/C is run a lot and builds up excess internal pressure.

Do you want to chance buying a new compressor vs. having it cut out when it should??
