01 4-runner stereo removal help

does anyone know how to take out the factory stereo on the 01 4-runner, or a good website that shows you how, any help is appreciated, pictures and diagrams would be great

A little late, but hopefully useful....
You have a couple options. The best option may be to call up crutchfield and buy the "master sheets" for your vehicle. They will cost you $5, but it will be worth it.
The second option is to try the following (which worked on my 2000 4runner)... Going by memory... Everything is held in by clips. First you beed to open the top of the center arm rest. Next use a screq-driver to pry off th the trim around the parking break. That will allow you to pry off the trim around the gear-box shifter. That in turn will allow you to pry off the whole front pannel radio/AC trim. Note that when I say "pry" it is really not a major amount of force. Not sure if that all applies to the 2001, but it does for the 2000. Oh, standard disclaimer about do this at your own risk.
