I was checking out different exhuasts and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the blitz nur specR found here http://www.blitz-na.com/Blitz_Ex_Spec_R.htm
so just give me your thoughts and if you have suggestions on different exhuast systems please post them.

I'd still rock it, but I'd get one of the SARD valves in the exhaust that open's and closes to let more or less exhaust through. lol

How loud is too LOUD, is there like a decibal lvl ordinance? it probably depends on where you live also.

i love my city the cops really don't care

i had 3" straight no cats or resonators, it was loud as hell and i know it was past the legal level, but i never got in trouble

tricks i learned on the highway it doesn't matter they can't heard you, if you see them on the road clutch it the sound will drop off some, and if you're stuck in traffic and you think you might get a ticket pull into a parking lot or something

the Nur Spec R was made for turbo cars, so if urs is N/A it'll be loud as hell

is that the silent high power one w/ silencer built in?

I have a Blitz Nur Spec as well. I love the exhaust but the other men who are posting are absolutely correct. It's ridiculously loud. I removed the silencer and the tone is great but car is very loud.

You'll have fun, as long as you live with the risk.

SOrry, it's by APEX'i, not SARD.

http://www.takakaira.com/performance/apex/exhaust/ecv.jpg

"APEXi produces state of the art, high performance exhausts which are known for quality, and deep aggresive exhaust tone. The new APEXi Exhaust Control Valve (ECV) controls the amount of exhaust flow from the exhaust muffler (especially the APEXi N1 exhaust muffler), and thus varies the loudness of the exhaust volume. The ECV is installed after the catalytic converter in a vehicle's exhaust system. It can easily reduces the exhaust loudness level by a maximum of 10dB by varying the butterfly valve in the ECV. With the ECV, one can now maximizes a high performance car potential with APEXi's range of high performance exhaust system; be it driving in urban areas, at night, or in areas with strict sound emission laws, just by varying the butterfly valve opening in the ECV. All these adjustments can be done in the cockpit via fly by wire controls of the ECV.The butterfly valve can be controlled in real time while driving either with the valve in fully opened, fully closed, or partially opened position. Before the invention of APEXi ECV, exhaust sound levels are control by using different inner silencers in an exhaust muffler. These inner silencers require vehicle down time to install, dismantle, and re-install to achieve similar performance levels of the ECV. Such changes also requires the exhaust to cool down in order not to burn the hands of the installer. The ECV replaces the connecting flange on the piping (after the catalytic converter) that connects to the catalytic converter. The wire that controls the butterfly valve on the ECV will run via the heat sensor cabling (as in NISSAN vehicles) and through an opening from the vehicle's under carriage to the interior of the vehicle where it will terminates at the valve control lever switch in the cockpit where it is within reach of the driver. Minor drilling & modification on exhaust piping after the catalytic converter might be required on other vehicle makes (e.g. TOYOTA vehicles)."

well i live in minnesota, so the cops up here dont even care that much, when my friend got pulled over once because someone called him in for making to much noise he just told the cop that the rust around his exhaust had caused holes so thats why it made more noise the cop beleived him, even though he had a brand new magna flow system put on and he took out his cat. Thats what i like about MN, police dont even know what a sr20 is up here!

also what are some of the hp gains people got with the Blitz Nur SpecR on the website it says from 5-20 but that is for all the veicles it is avilible for, i was wondering about the gain on an s14 sr20? also a quick funny story, when i was out the other night i saw a group of kids in a parking lot, when i walked by i heard a girl say to one of the guys in the car "donny drift around that corner with your e-brake" as the car went around the corner i saw it was a honda civic and when he pulled the e-brake his front wheels just swung into the curb. i laughed my ass off!

I did that for prolly three weeks.lol I didn't get hassled either.

"Thats whatta like bout the south!!!"

If I were to buy another exhasut, I'd buy some 3.5" tubing and make a straight pipe setup....

a couple of people here drive to school with toyota 4cyl trucks running a small pipe from the header towards the ground. You can see it when he drives by and its loud as hell. We also have 3 cops at our school everyday and he hasnt got hassled yet lol

TBO makes an 80mm SUS like that... its one peice so I think it would be a bitch to get here though... its got all the hangers and mandrel bent for 200 something bucks though.

SR20 + Tubular Manifold + Straight Pipe = 90% as nice as 2JZ.

4 bangers without tubular manifolds sound like trash. KA or SR or 4G63 bleh...

It has like 20 applications and if your car isn't on there, there are 3 different exhaust sizes for the universal. It's 137-166$US.

i dont really see the point in buying that ECV, it seems like it will just create more backpressure in your exhaust system and reduce horsepower...

240SXSlideStar
06-26-2005, 10:28 PM
Ummm, when it's fully open, it's like if it wasn't there, and it will make you exhaust much much quieter when you don't want it to be loud.

does any one here have or know any thing about the JDM 5Zigen Border 304MAX exhaust, i saw it on www.jspec.com. Its soppose to be loud as hell but with great hp gains. any one know anything else about it like price?

orestes
06-27-2005, 03:34 AM
Ferrari has that butterfly valve shit. Down low it will stay closed more to give you more backpressure so you dont lose low-range power (not like you would lose much on a v-8 or v-12), then it will open when you get out of the low end of the powerband to give you more flow up top.

240SXSlideStar
06-27-2005, 03:44 AM
If it's good enough for Ferrari then, and only then, is it good enough for a 240SX.

orestes
06-27-2005, 03:51 AM
mmm......ferrari......mmmm

have you seen the FXX? lol 1.8 million and you get to have a seat and pedals tailor made for you and race instructions too. oh yeah a 800 hp enzo with more aero work done too.

nissanfanatic
06-27-2005, 05:30 PM
Backpressure doesn't incresse low-end torque. Its the increased gas velocity due to a much smaller outlet that increases low end torque.

LOW END TORQUE=OVERRATED

Seriously, who the hell cares about making torque below 4k anyways?

Response 1: "Oh, well I don't have to downshift to smoke your ass!!!111.

Great douchebag. You're the king of 1k-4k. My turbo spools at 4k.

Response 2: "My car is much more fun to drive from day to day since I have a much more friendly powerband,"

Uh okay, since when was there an RPM limit sign?

Response 3: "I own you off the line!!!1"

Ever heard of a clutch? Ever heard of raising the RPM before launching and slipping the clutch? Ever heard of who gives a F*** about "getting someone off the line,"?

Low end torque, right up there with Oprah's hemmoroids in WHO GIVES A f**K?

On a side note, I do understand the noise thing.

Do they really care that much about noise in your area? DO you care about noise? if not you could just go with a straight pipe, or what about the medalion (SP?) exhaust i heard sounds pretty sweet....

How am I a flammer? I post whore, sure, but a flammer?

orestes
06-28-2005, 02:26 AM
no, backpressure doesnt increase power, but the right amount of backpressure at the right point will add power. too little or too much and you will lose power. i wasnt saying that just because theres more that you will gain power.

nissanfanatic
06-28-2005, 12:52 PM
Backpressure=bad. Plain and simple. Maintaining exhaust velocity is what increases low end and high end power. What size exhuast and intake piping/porting decides where you make peak exhaust gas and intake velocity and decides where you make PCP(Peak Cylinder Pressure AKA peak torque).

orestes
06-28-2005, 01:59 PM
hmm ok so why was my car much more sluggish with no exhaust on it just ended at the cat.
