hello, I'm new. After looking at all the threads, I realize, that it is very difficult to figure out why our cars keep stallin!, anyway, I'm not the exeption.
1992 88 with 57k. always serviced at dealer, start fine, run for 2 miles, and then die, try to start back up but just crank!. I replace today the camshaft position sensor and still the same.
it does not matter about the temperature out, or in the engine, the car starts after a while, I left it in park for 45 minutes running and then stop again. try to started back up and the same thing. DOES ANY BODY WITH THE SAME PROBLEM HAS ACTUALLY RESOLVE THE PROBLEM? AND BEFORE YOU TELL ME OR GIVE ME INITIALS LIKE ICU OR ICM, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS IT, AND WHERE IS LOCATED, BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA OF WHERE ANYTHING IS. I'M AN OLD MAN AND I JUST LIKE TO FIX UP MY CAR SO I CAN GO AND GET TO THE STORE AND GET MY GROCERIES THANK YOU!

There can be a lot of causes. Lets try to start with the easiest to diagnose. Take a paperclip and connect to the diagnostic terminal. It's located underneath the dash. plug the paperclip into the upper right terminal and the other half to the terminal next to it in the left. Make sure it stays in the whole time. Now turn on the car but don't start it. Take a piece of paper and mark down any and all codes that it flashes. The first one will be code 12 it will flash three time befoe reporting any other codes. When all the coded have been read code 12 will flash again. When you have read all the coded, you can come back here and report which codes flashed. We then can try to see if you have a bad part or sensor, before you go into taking the engine itself apart. Remember to take the paper clip out before trying to run the car again.
