New law in Vermont

Few weeks ago a new law came out concerning sound systems. If cops hear your music 25 feet away, then you will get a $125 ticket the first time, and arrested if they catch you second time. Thats so gay its not even funny. Imagine how much this must suck for people with stereo systems in their cars.

That's nothing. Here in NY, if they here you more than 5 blocks away or your stereo is over 80 decibels, they ticket you and impound the car. How you like them apples?

5 blocks is a long way. 25 feet is like right across the road. Its so stupid I hate it.

All monster cable.
It aint much but, but it will do till I get my indash tv. Then I can put my PS2 in there.

Actually, they do have them. That's how they bag you with the decibel warning. About the only one that you would be able to fight is if they say that they heard you from 5 blocks away.

I doubt that all the cops would have SPL meters, and did they show you the read out. Also, do they have a tape measure to measure how far away they are from you when they hear it. You can easily get out off all of these "subjective" laws. They're very transparent.

One of my friends, who had 3 12s in the back and got ticketed, fought the ticket and won....the cop said he could hear the system more than fifty feet away, which is the law here.....my friend measured it and it was like 39 feet, so he got out of it.....just my little story that i wanted to share..... :)

One of my friends had a cop who didn't give him a ticket but made him take out his one 12" sub. The cop said he will check on him within the next couple of days. If it wasn't out then he would get a ticket.

Over here in the UK, the laws are very vague corcerning systems. I think its more or less up to the individual cop, and what sort of mood theyre in. It has been know for people to get fined for it, but because its so few a far between, when it happens, it makes big waves. Some performance magazine even stood behind a particular kid who got fined £350 claiming that its not a crime. Protests have been held, with a string of performance cars with systems in, all tuned to a supporting local radio statio (Kiss FM) and then proceeded to blast music all around the Houses of Parliment, you cant get better protesting than that, thats more like a saturday night out at the cruises:)
Ive been stopped a few times, just got told to keep it down but like BNismoG20 says, i just use the ATT button
