I am assuming that the fluid overflow is from your radiator? Probably a cooling problem, as the radiator also has the cooling burden of the tranny. Is the coolant temp rising?
I had a 95 sr5 as well and had problems with tranny overheating at heavy load or high speed. I installed an external transmission cooler ($80 bucks installed at a local hitch shop) and replaced tranny filter and fluids and my probs went away.
Have you performed routine maintenance on the cooling system and the transmission. May be time for filter / fluid change on the tranny and a flush and new thermostat on the cooling system. Bad thing is the thermostat isn't easy to get to like on many vehicles.
