Can I buy an adapter to put on intake and put the 134 stuff in instead of the R12?

Due to EPA regulations, etc. the R12 needs to be purged from the system and disposed in an approved manner. Most home mechanics do not have the equipment to do this.

The R12 can be replaced by R134, but your best bet is to have your local shop do it for you.
