S-10 Blower Motor

I have a 1990 S-10. I had the motor on Low, and got a small puff of smoke through the vent duct.

I assumed that I burned the motor up so I replaced that - I checked the 25A fuse in the cab and the 25A in the engine. Did I fry something else, or did I just get a bad Chinese motor from the store?

you'll have to run a jumper wire with a inline fuse on it to test the motor

goto autozone (i know, i dont like to either) and put out the 90 bucks or so and get a lifetime warrentied one, never need to pay for it again, no matter howmany times the forigners screw it up... but to test, do as overboard said, or take it out and run a power sorce to it directly to see if it spins or not

I replaced the motor with a Canadian one - works fine but I still have smoke at the fan speed switch. I replaced the switch (the old one had burn marks). The new switch is still smoking. What can cause my switches to fry?

If you can use a multi meter try using it to bypass the switch, and check how much current that you have.
My guess is to much resistance in the wire somewhere, probably almost burnt out somewhere. Probably by the switch, or the fan motor
Or you could have too much amprage there, which I really can't see happening.
