96 Lumina A/c Bypass

Can you bypass the a/c pulley on a 96 lumina 3.1? It doesn't seem to be possible with a shorter belt because I;m pretty sure that I would also bypass the water pump pulley and that would not be good. Unless I'm looking at the pulley arrangement wrong?

They pretty much make them so it's not practical to try to do what you are contemplating.
Is your compressor bearing bad, or you just trying to eliminate the A/C (and if so, are you NUTZ?)

I've gotton those compressors from junkyards as low as $40. Put in new o-rings, and it'll probably work fine once evac'd and charged, unless the compressor guts self-destructed at one time also.
