I took my 1998 blazer into my local dealership to have them check an oil leak. They said that two oil cooler lines are leaking, the power steering pump seal is leaking and the intake gaskets are seeping. They want a total of $1100.00 to fix this. How much of this is labor? The written estimate doesn't say. Does anybody know how long this job is supposed to take? I do know that they get 85 dollars an hour. I am thinking of trading up to a 2005 trailblazer and I need to know this for negotiating purposes for my trade in.
Thanks for any input anybody can give me

When I had my intake gasket changed it ran 579.00. Of that 125.00 was towing, 291.00 labor, and 130.00 parts. That also included having the cooling system and engine flushed, 2 gallons DEXcool and oil and filter. Labor was listed at 4.2 hours for the intake and 1 hour for the flushing. I also recently changed the oil lines myself and it cost me 55.00 for both lines and 2.00 for the filter adapter gasket kit. Took about an hour to change them. The work was done by Lewis Chevrolet in Beckley WV and took 1 full day, I picked it up the next morning.

I would get a second opinion before you lay down that kind of money.
A little lucas power steering treatment could stop the PS leak.
