What clutch?

Ok, its been a while now since my swap and my clutch needs to be replaced. So im trying to use a 92-95 clutch(maybe 6-puck) but im not sure if it will slide into my Si tranny. I currently have an A6 clutch & p/plate with Z6 flywheel which most of you know is about an 1" wider in diameter (maybe a lil less) than an A6 flywheel. so my main concern is whether the splines on the input shaft are the same on an A6 and Z6 tranny?

I don't believe so. I've got a clutch right in front of me for my '94 CX and is says it's for a '92-'00 Civic.

All Civic transmissions (for D series engines) from 89 thru 00 (possibly more) have 21 splines...

Its the 88s that have only 20...

The 88 and 89 have the same surphace area which is smaller than the 90-91s...

And the 92+ have an even larger area...


So to simplify: If you have a 89+ tranny and a 92+ flywheel already, go with a 92+ clutch... But if you have an 88 tranny, you must go with the 88 clutch...
