Forgot Tool Set

I was pulling a trailer today when one of the tires blew out. I was on a country road, so I thought no big deal, I'll pull over and put on the spare. I changed it with no problems, and drove off. A few hours later, I realized I had left a $150.00 set of Craftsmen tools laying in the weeds along the road. I raced back there, and sure enough, they were gone. I guess its only myself I have to be mad at, how could I have been so careless????

well, it's your own fault, but I do honestly sympathise!!!!. But, I learned very fast from some old dudes, always work out of your trunk, take out what you need, replace it before you ever reach for another tool. It takes a bit of effort, but I have never lost a tool, except for the odd bit that drops into a frame channel that I can't get to at the time.

i realize that its my fault, I'm sitting here pissed at my self. I guess i need to consider it an expensive lesson though, I'll remember to check twice for any last items they next time i'm in a similar situation.

Wow how interesting....i just picked up a new set of craftsman tools for free...

That does suck though, if it makes you feel any better I did the same thing with a floor jack once when I went to change a tire for a friend... a freaking floor jack, i mean come on.

knifeblade's comment reminds me what happened last week..

I broke my throttle cable racing, I got a new one,and out it back on. As I was tightning up the clamps on the intake with a screwdriver, I dropped the bastard, and it landed between the transmission, and the tunnel. I reached for for it, and doing so, cut my arm all up on wires/zipties... Then the batteries in my Maglite died, so I tried to grab them with a ginat set of pliers, but every time I reached for them, I knocked them further back...the thing is still lodged down in there, unless it fell out without me noticing..

Yeah, i always leave the tools in the truck when im using them. It works well if your only using what you need and then just bring it back to get something else.

I would be pissed if i did that too.

The fucked up thing about that story is this:

some asshole noticed the tools on the side of the road, and knew they didnt belong to them. They stopped, and hurried the hell up to get the tools and ge tthe hell out of there before the owner came back for them.

Fucking assholes.

We all make mistakes. It's not right for others to capitalize on that. Fuckin dickheads. I hate people.

Selling a jack (or the toolset) at a pawn shop will score you a nice sized rock from the guy on the corner.

LOL
well in that case, I'll score some floor jacks/tool too!

j/k

Way waste money and sell it at a pawn shop? I thought they had 83974 (random number) jacks already?

Thats a lot of rocks.
