My 35th anniversary SS is due new tires, and I thought perhaps it would be nice to have some spiffier wheels - any suggestions as to a) whether this is a good idea, and if so b) which.

Or if just tires, again, would appreciate suggestions.

Thanks!

I like the SS rims so I really wouldn't change those. As far as tires go, I've only bought the BFG G-Force KDW for it and they really do kick ass for dry traction and driving through rain, and their better on snow than you would think :screwy:

Next time around, I might go with a set that is cheaper. I'm able to get them for $210 a piece but I really dno't need Z rated tires (I don't drive 150 mph that much...OK never) so I thinkin about another tire called Xenon's (I think???) the tread looks pretty aggresive, I talked to a guy that had them on his Camaro and he really liked them and they run about $400 for a set.

Im personally partial to the Goodyear Eagle F1's that are factory on Vettes. Also i love the look of the factory vette five spoke chrome rims, which will bolt right up to your camaro. Id go that route if i had the money.

My best friend back home has those vette chrome 5 spokes on his 98 Z28. I think those wheels make that car one of the best looking cars around. He's got the Eagle F1's on them too. I would recomend that setup to anyone as far as looks go anyway.

All I can suggest is if you have snow, or like to drive above 100mph do not get the firestone fuzions. I went that cheap route and for being 99 dollars a tire (I got the fourth one for free also) They're good tires. They grip well when warmed up and don't look too bad, also grip really well in the rain. But the rubber is harder so they're worthless in the snow, I get wheelhop a lot easier, and they start to spin around 110 causing the car to shake horribly. Next time if I get the money I'm going with a better set, like the F1's

Thank you all for your help. I got the Goodrich tires - so far, very pleased, particularly with the lack of noise - and am saving up for the wheels!!

Drive fast but safe out there.

Whatever you do stay away from http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v430/hells_gullet/IMG_0156.jpg

sure they were cheap but I don't get any traction at all in the rain.
