Gas is Disappearing

1986 F-150, 302, AOD, fuel injected, dual tanks
When on the front tank, the gas is actually moving from the front to rear tank. I discovered this when gas started pouring out from around the gas cap. Not sure if this happens when i run on the back tank. What i am doing now is running on the back tank and then switch to the front. How common is this? I also have a 1986 F-250 diesel and this is not a problem on it, but it also does not have electric fuel pump.

Change your selector valve, its the way. there were recalls on the later years after 87-91 but everyone before that missed this.
