remote entry help

i have read through the thread for the keyless entry for my car which was basically NO help to me. i need some one (in dumb mans terms) to explain to me how to program this remote. i have a 98 grand am gt. thanks

i figured how to get the car into program mode... but i cannot get the remote to take the programming. what do i do
