Plug wires-- which brand?

I recently purchased a set of autolite brand wires for around $30. A friend who was helping me with a tune-up suggested I stick with the AC-Delco -- price about $100. He said the autoLites do not last and since the job is kind of a big pain I should invest in the "better" set? Is this true?

I installed autolites and from what I see going on and coming off the engine, they look exceptionally good.
You won't ever see the 70 difference.

I've got about 30,000 miles on my autolite plugs and wires. No problems.....excellent fuel economy, smooth idle, and plenty of power.

For what it's worth, I used to work for Autolite; the Autolite plug wires are made by Beldin, who make wire for about everyone else.
I will say that the Autolite wires are about .7 mm larger diameter than most; Beldin has to make them on a seperate production line because of the difference.
On the plug side, Autolite plugs are made in the plant in Fostoria, OH; they also make some AC Delco, all the Motorcraft, all the SplitFire, and all the Autolite (copper core, single and double platinum).
