How to replace heater core in 91 passat??

Well i got the dash tottaly off now I cant figure out whats next its like a whole nother dash behind it. Its like a big black box but I cant figure out how to get it apart to get to the heater core

let me know how you made out with this. i have the same problem

If memory serves me correctly, you have only clips to remove from the left half. That will kind of make the panel loose. From a post i found online recomending this, I broke the panel/cover in half or at least free from the other panel. that gave me access to the core which pulls up and out of the box.
