I have a 2000 Durango (5.2L) that come down with the dreaded Check Engine light some time ago. There was no loss in performance initially but over time I have noticed hesitatation when accelerating. The noticable problem is when setting cruise, it begins to accelerate without stopping. I had to manually stop cruise at 90+ after realizing that it wasn't going to quit on its own.

I did my research here and found 2 similar problems. The throttle position sensor on the side of the throttle body and the speed sensor on the side of the transmission. I replaced both today and still no luck. The odometer reads Error P 1491 - then P Done. Any help is appreciated on this. Thanks

UPDATE ---

Ok, I was able to find out that the error code at question points to a Radiator Fan Control Circuit Problem that could also be solid state relays or other circuit problems. I pulled the radiator fan relay from the fuse box and noticed there were burn marks on the relay and the socket where it plugs in was partially melted. Has anyone seen anything like this before and what would the relation be to the problem with the increasing accleration when setting cruise? Thanks
