My 2001 4wd xlt has started to stall when i come to a stop after going at high speeds, ie at the toll gate after getting off the highway. It feels almost as if I were driving a maual transmision and forgot to prsess down the clutch. sometimes it restarts right away other times it starts then stalls again. It doesnt happen all the time and there are no engine codes. I had the idle control changed about a year ago, and my mechanic cleaned the mass flow meter and throttle plate. The car ran fine for two days then stalled again. My mechanic is now thinking that the torque converter could be locking up (like the GM)
Any thoughts???????? Advice????? Help??????

My first thought is the IAC but you claim it was changed. Doesn't mean you can't be having problems with the new one. Check the voltage to the IAC and make sure it's there. Also, as long as you have your foot into the gas, even a little, it takes the IAC out of the picture. So while you're having the problem, keep the gas pedal pressed slightly and see if it runs. If it does, I would take the IAC off and clean and oil the plunger area and go from there. It's very simple to remove and clean yourself. A faulty IAC does not generate an error code(FYI).
