First, do the police know you were there? [At least you were smart enough not to be in the truck, but really not smart enough to tell them BAD IDEA, for several reasons, presuming you didn't say anything to them].
U in bad spot, I'd talk to friend first, say hey I'm in it but not going down in flames with you this way, and tell him to fess up, turn himself in [make sure he has some bail money on him or can get to it fast]. Tell him to plead not guilty at arraignment, ask for court-appointed attorney, and post bail.
The longer he ducks it, and you duck it, the worse it will get, if he turns himself in, he will get a small break on prosecutor charges [hopefully, it a gamble], but if they have to find him on a bench warrant he in worse shape then.
My take on it.

Caught on tape doing donuts? I hope they let that go after a while. IMO it is not worth it to hunt down some kids for weeks at a time for doing donuts. They have bigger more important things to be looking into. As for the punishment, let them go.....getting caught was enough. Unless you all are bad kids who can't learn a thing.

Tell them to piss off next time. Cops have nothing better to do than harass young ppl its rediculous. I got a ticket for 28 in a 25 last week. If you don't say who was on the video they got nothing. If they did the guys at mischief and all those videos would be in a pile of trouble.

I kind of doubt that they'll spend weeks looking for it, unless it's a small town in the middle of nowhere and they have nothing better to do. In that case, he'll want to do what Knifeblade said.

Well, you admit to breaking the law (if you have burnout laws), and you got snapped.
I don't see a problem here. Man the fuck up and take responsibility for your actions.

haha... sucks for you. Once I got pulled over for 39 in a 25 breaking curfew while it was raining on new years with nunchucks in the passenger seat, and got off with "Alright, well have a nice night!" :loser:

Well he didn't say it was him. He could have been covering his tracks by saying he didn't do it. Who knows? I still feel like it was petty.

First of all, holy shit i thought jimi hendrix was dead.
Second, I dont really understand what the problem is. The thread title said police help so I am guessing your main concern is the cops, not what your girls mom thinks or anything like that. You did nothing, tell the cops to go fuck themselves (other words might work better). So someone did some donuts, yippie, if anyone gets in trouble for it then they will get a little ticket, not 10 years in the pen. If it was your g/f's truck and they have a tape but didnt actually catch them in the act (which means it is BS) and they havent given her a ticket yet then no one is going to get in any trouble.
If all else fails bark like a chicken at the cops.

For real though you didn't do anything serious, neither did your friend,
I'm supprised they have a tape,
I'm more supprised they actually questioned anyone,
I would be really suprised if they follow up on it anymore
My friend had his shed burned down 2+ year ago, which ended up setting his new truck on fire ('02 silverado), which in turn caught their supercharged regal and turbo supra on fire also, the silverado was just a frame the next morning,
He told them who did it, they didn't even talk to that guy... :screwy:

LOL, yeah, it not like the cops will start a manhunt or anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if they start noticing the kid more for awhile. Like busting him for 5 over or something, but if they went further further and had a bench-warrant out on the kid, he's in for it.

They wont follow the kid around and they arent going to put a bench warrant out for some kid doing donuts. :screwy:
Its not like anyone robbed anything or anyone got shot, someone did donuts. Also if it was in a parking lot (im hoping you arent doing donuts on an open road) then they cops cant do jack shit to anyone.
Hell we used to have cops that set up a speed trap almost every night right across the street from the grocery store where I worked. And every night after we got done and they were out there, me and another stocker who drove an ss camaro did a huge burnout or donuts or something in the parking lot. Cops followed me once, I did nothing wrong on public roads so they couldnt touch me.

I think the mom who saw the tape, is bullshitting you. Who the fuck taped it? Seriously?
This would mean somebody saw them doing donuts, taped it, sent the tape to the cops, the cops gave a shit, the cops tracked down your gf, interrogated her mother, and are now launching an investigation.
Its a fuckin joke dude.

Either the cops are really bored or someone is pulling your leg.
Was there any property damage to the lot? Was a bystander injured? If not I can't believe a police department would launch an investigation into this. Talk about a waste of resources.
